Manteo Prototype Testing Program - Terms & Conditions

Program Name: Manteo Field Test Program
Deposit Amount: $100 (refundable, subject to conditions below)
1. Program Overview
The Manteo Poncho Field Test Program ("Program") allows selected participants to temporarily test a pre-production prototype of the Manteo Poncho ("Prototype") and provide feedback prior to public release. Participation is voluntary and subject to these Terms & Conditions.
2. Prototype Ownership
The Prototype remains the property of Manteo Poncho LLC ("Manteo") at all times unless purchased separately through a preorder or retail transaction. Participants are receiving a loaned test unit for temporary use only.
3. Deposit + Payment Terms
A refundable deposit of $100 USD is required to participate.
Returned in acceptable condition → Full refund
Kept by participant → Deposit applied toward preorder or purchase
Damaged beyond normal wear or not returned → Deposit forfeited
If damage exceeds $100, participant may be charged up to full replacement value (not to exceed MSRP)
Deposits are refunded within 7–10 business days after the unit is received and inspected.
4. Trial Period
Participants agree to return the Prototype within 14 days of receipt unless otherwise approved in writing.
Extensions may be granted based on availability.
5. Care & Use Requirements
Normal wear is expected. Participants agree to:
Use the Prototype responsibly
Avoid intentional damage, negligence, or misuse
Keep the Prototype clean and dry during return shipping
Return all components received (pouch, straps, packaging, tags if applicable)
Prototype may be used during typical outdoor scenarios such as travel, hiking, beach activities, camping, commuting, stadium events, etc.
6. Damage & Loss Policy
Minor Wear (no charge):
Small stains, light scuffs, minor insulation compression.
Chargeable Damage (deposit forfeited):
Burn holes, rips, tears, seam failures caused by misuse
Mold, chemical damage, or permanent stains
Missing components
Odors from pets, smoke, or excessive dirt
Lost, stolen, or unreturned items
If replacement cost exceeds $100, Manteo may invoice the difference, capped at MSRP.
7. Return Process
Participants must:
Use the provided return label or approved shipping method
Package securely
Ship by the specified return date
Participants are responsible for damages caused during return if improperly packed.
8. Feedback & Content Rights
By participating, you agree to provide feedback through surveys, interviews, or submitted media (optional).
If you submit photos, videos, or testimonials, you grant Manteo a royalty-free, worldwide license to use this content for marketing, product development, or research purposes. Attribution provided when reasonable.

9. Not a Purchase Agreement
Participation does not guarantee receipt of the final product. Preordering is separate and subject to future availability.
10. Risk & Liability Disclaimer
Prototypes are pre-production units and may not reflect final safety ratings, waterproofing, or materials. Participants agree to assume responsibility for use and waive claims arising from normal outdoor, travel, or environmental activities. Not intended for survival scenarios or extreme expedition use.
11. Program Modifications
Manteo reserves the right to:
Modify or end the program at any time
Limit participants
Change deposit structure for future cohorts
These terms apply only to the current testing round.

By joining the program, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
